Blog Post 2

Hi! This is my second blog post for this class. Here are my tentative 10 sources. There are 8 from PTW journals and 2 from JSTOR. I'm planning on doing my project on how different English is across cultures and how that affects our communication, so I think these sources will help me learn more about that.

Sage Journals:

Source 1) Language and Empiricism by Paul M. Dombrowski

Source 2) Designing Interculturally: Adopting a Social Justice Research Framework for

"Seeing Difference" by Therese I. Pennell

Source 3) Moving International Technical Communication Forward: A World Englishes Approach

by Michael Jarvis Kwadzo Bokor, Ph.D.

Source 4) The "Multimodal Spiral": Rethinking the Communication Curriculum at an English as a

Medium of Instruction Institution by Matthew Overstreet, Curtis Carbonell, and Diana Akhmedjanova

Source 5) Stylistic Differences in Multilingual Administrative Forms: A Cross-Linguistic

Characterization by Julia Lavid and Maite Taboada

Proquest:

Source 6) Pillaging the Tombs of Noncanonical Texts Technical Writing and the Evolution of

English Style by Tebeaux, Elizabeth

Source 7) Historical Studies of Technical Communication in the United States and England: A

Fifteen-Year Retrospection and Guide to Resources by Malone, EA

Source 8) Meeting the Challenges of Globalization: A Framework for Global Literacies in Professional Communication Programs by Starke-Meyerring, Doreen

JSTOR:

Source 9) Australian English by A. G. Mitchell

  1. Hi Siella, These all look like great sources! I'd contact Shelby Shipley in the library to help you gather even more if you need to!

  2. I found several sources in the Sage Journals database. It has come up with a lot of good sources that I’m planning on using. I also like the JSTOR database, as well. There might be a bit of an imbalance on mine, but I have found some sources from other databases, so I think it should still work out.
